Tennessee Repossession Title State: Repossessor License and Repossessor Registration information refer to: Tennessee Motor Vehicle Division, 500 Deaderick St., Nashville, Tennessee 37242

Tennessee Repossession Recording: Must be filed on record in the Registrar’s office in the county where the Tennessee Repossession mortgagor resides; if non-resident, in the county where the property is located. Uniform Commercial Code adopted July, 1964. 

Tennessee Repossession Recovery: Peaceful repossession permitted. 

Tennessee Repossession Redemption: Ten day repo redemption. 

Tennessee Repossession Deficiency: Permitted. 

Special Tennessee Repossession Motor Vehicle Provisions: Liens must be recorded on title card issued by the Tennessee Repossession Department of Motor Vehicles. Tennessee Repossession Liens not dependent on possession are not valid unless noted on title card. 

Tennessee Repossession Documents Required to Transfer Ownership of Tennessee Repossession Motor Vehicle: Certificate of title with lien release; notarized affidavit of repossession; Bill of Sale and odometer statement. 

Tennessee Repossession Plates: Remain with the owner or repossessor.
