South Dakota Repossession Title State: Repossessor License and Repossessor Registration information refer to: South Dakota Repossession Division of Motor Vehicles, 118 W. Capitol Avenue, Pierre, South Dakota 57501-2080

South Dakota Repossession Recording: Recorded with County Registrar of Deeds. Uniform Commercial Code adopted July, 1967. 

South Dakota Repossession Recovery: Peaceful repossession permitted. 

South Dakota Repossession Redemption: None after resale by lien holder or repossessor.

South Dakota Repossession Deficiency: If lien instrument provides. 

Special South Dakota Repossession Motor Vehicle Provisions: Lien instrument and certificate of title is delivered to the County Registrar of Deeds and the South Dakota Repossession lien is noted on the title when the lien instrument is filed. 

South Dakota Repossession Documents Required to Transfer Ownership of South Dakota Repossession Motor Vehicle: Certificate of title with lien release, certified copy of contract, affidavit of repossession and application for South Dakota Repossession title or certified Power of Attorney. 

South Dakota Repossession Plates: Remain with the vehicle or repossessor.
