New York Repossession Recording: Must be filed in the city or town where mortgagor or buyer resides at time of execution of the document. If non-resident, then where property is located. Uniform Commercial Code adopted September, 1964.
New York Repossession Recovery: Peaceful repossession permitted.
New York Repossession Redemption: No redemption after foreclosure and repo sale.
New York Repossession Deficiency: Permitted if provided for by the mortgage. Retaking does not bar suit for price and vice-versa. New York Repossession Confession of judgment notes are permitted.
New York Repossession Special Motor Vehicle Provisions: None.
Documents Required to Transfer Ownership of New York Repossession Motor Vehicles: Title in lien holder’s name and New York Repossession notarized Bill of Repo Sale.
New York Repossession : Must be sent to BMV if the owner or repossessor does not accept them and sign for them when vehicle is repossessed
