Title State: Repossession Title and Repossessor License information refer to: The Arizona Department of Transportation, Motor Vehicle Repossession Division, 1801 W. Jefferson, Phoenix, Arizona 85007
Recording: Must be recorded with Arizona county Recorder of County in which goods are situated at the time of repossessor sale. Commercial Code adopted January, 1968.
Recovery: Peaceful repossession permitted in Arizona.
Arizona Repossession Redemption: Debtor can redeem within 10 days after repossession. If 50% of purchase price has been paid, public repo sale with notice is required. If more than $500.00 has been paid prior to repossession, publication in Arizona newspaper is also required. Less than 50% or $500.00, private repo sale permitted.
Repossession Deficiency: Arizona Repo does not bar suit for price, and vice versa. Confession of judgment notes are valid for Arizona repossessor.
Special Motor Vehicle Provisions: Repossession Lien must appear on title. Secretion of mortgaged goods a crime.
Arizona Repossession Documents Required to Transfer Ownership of Arizona Motor Vehicle from Repossessor: Certificate of title in name of registered owner with Power of Attorney signed by registered owner and lien termination statement or certificate of title in name of legal owner, properly endorsed to make instrument negotiable for repossessor.
Plates: Arizona Repo plates stay with the vehicle. Registration is transferred as part of repossession title transfer transaction.
